Well ppl, im not sure where to start with all thats been happening since i got here??
I wanna keep it short.
Most of you would have received my updates which included many crazy and awesome stories.
The one about my passport was a highlite i thought.LOL!
I have been in the city of Cochabamba now for just over a week.
I have made many contacts with some key ppl thx to the many prayers of my faithful friends. Tonight i will go and look at a room that a friend suggested which is a very good price..but we’ll see what the condition is like first. Could be a mud hut! LOL!
I have been to the streets twice now with a friend from England who i met here when i came in 2007.
She has been working here now about 2.5 years with the street kids, so she knows many of them&nows what’s the deal. We met a group of street ppl hangin out near one of the bridges, having bread and water for breakfast.
We asked if we could come ver and talk with them. A few of them recognised my freind Rehanna, & they said “come ova!” There was a young mum of about 30 years who had a very young daughter of 2.5 years and one of 13 years with her. The 13 year old girl (Carmen) had her boyfrind with her. And there were a few teenage boys just hangin around. They were very welcoming to us in general (considering they didnt really know us) We were told one of the boys (Miguel, 14) was very sick with a flu. We went over to him to see, He has tears in his eyes from the sickness. We took him and Carmen into town to a free clinic. They were given some drugs and Miguel a jab in the butt – OUCH!!
We dropped them back to the bridge about 4 pm, prayed for healing for them and the 2.5 year old, and left.

2 days later we returned to see how they were. There were only 2 teenage guys there, and one of them was Miguel.
We asked how he was, and he said about 2 hours after we dropped them off, he was completely well again!! All i can say is PRAISE GOD 4 HEALING HIM!!

This week i will be meeting with many more people who are working with street kids. Also Rehanna saw an advertisement advertising English teaching work like 30 seconds away from where im staying at the moment, so i’ll go check that out tomorrow.

God has been good 2 me indeed!!!

Blessings to all :-)

Time for Bolivia

June 24, 2009

Well peeps, I’m 2 weeks out from flying to Bolivia, South America!!! I’m scared and excited at the same time!!
I have many things to organise and little time left, so the pressure’s on.
This weekend on Saturday afternoon i’m having a farewell party at Hamilton lake. Over the last year this lake has been my place of many walks with good friends (and even many runs for a season) so this Saturday i’m looking forward to spending the afternoon with some very good friends and i pray it’ll be a beautiful day for all. Praise God!

This weekend i will speak at Life church at the morning service. The topic will be the plight of street children and our respobnsibility as Christ’s body to take care of the orphan, the Fatherless, the poor and oppressed. Service starts at 10am.
Hope you can make it! :-)
Gareth.
